Nancy Jane Blake, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center.
She was born in Morgantown on Sept. 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Fred Blake and the late Rella Davy Blake.
Survivors include her children, Janie Anderson, Thomas Anderson (Karen), Nannette Burns (John McCabe) and Jeanie Blake (Mark Sullivan); seven grandchildren, T.J. Burns (Tara), Chelsa Burns (Willie Gibson), Jordan Sullivan, Christina Anderson and Chris, Erik and David III Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Braxton and Jaxon Burns, Alexis and Brody Gibson; one brother, Thomas Blake (Margaret); one sister, Betty Hurd; and several nieces and nephews that she was close to.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings.
Nancy loved her job, working as a case manager for more than 33 years at Valley Mental Health. She was proud to have gone back to college in her 40s, attending Fairmont State University and earning her associate’s degree. She loved going to the beach and was an avid tap dancer. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends may join the family to honor Nancy’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 3, and again from 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by pastor Donna Dalton. Interment will follow in the Zoar Cemetery.
