Martin Marhefka

Martin “Mike” Michael Marhefka passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his home. Mike was 61 years old and born on Sept. 12, 1959, in Westover.

His spirit will be carried on by his loving family, Glenda Dawkins, Kristin and Robert Summers, Angela Ellis, Kassidy Bankhead, Khristina and Brien McCormick and Jonathan and Kayla Dawkins; his pride and joy, and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Olivia and Hadleigh Summers, Amelia and Francine Dawkins, and great-grandson, Aidyn McCormick; and finally by his closest friends, Rick and Tracia Stache, Debra DeFelice and so many more.

Mike is now reunited with his mother, Josephine Catherine Marhefka; father, John William Marhefka; life-long best friend, Gene “Gino” Fiorini; and his beloved pets, Susie, Squawk, Susie and Jake.

Mike was an electrician by trade. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted Mountaineer, Pirates and Steelers fan and loved his Harley. His greatest joy in life was spoiling his grandchildren. He was the best “Pappy” and will be incredibly missed.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Amedisys Hospice team who helped care for him — as well as Smith Funeral & Cremation Care of Westover/Morgantown who is providing guidance to them during this time.

At his request, no service will be held. A remembrance ceremony will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Amedisys Foundation by visiting https://www.amedisys.com/about/foundation/.
