Charles W. Miller Jr. 62, of Kingwood, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, in the line of duty while responding to a fire call.
He was born Dec. 19, 1958, in Painesville, Ohio, a son of the late Charles W. Miller Sr. and Thelma M. Knotts Miller.
Chuck, as he was known to most, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to those who knew him. He was a truck driver for G & B Trucking in Kingwood. He enjoyed going for side-by-side rides with his family and friends, hunting and volunteering his time with the Albright Volunteer Fire Department, where he was most recently captain and had been a member since 1992. He was also a member of other volunteer organizations, Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department, KAMP Ambulance, Valley Ambulance, Mountaineer Ambulance and the Preston County Dive Team.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Carrie M. Miller, of Kingwood; two sons, Jason N. Miller, of Kingwood, and Stoney L. Miller and wife, Danielle, of Newburg; a grandson, Nathanial Miller, of Wheeling; a sister, Sharon Miller Sigley of Albright; a nephew, Kevin L. Sigley and fiancée Christina E. Gibson, great-niece, Dani M. Sigley and fiancé Jeff L. Rhode and great-nephew, Alex E. Sigley, all of Albright; niece, Stephanie Taylor and husband Pete; great-nephew, Kadance Goff and great-niece, Ava Taylor, of Albright; nephew, Shaun Miller; aunt, Leigh Daisy Crane, of Valley Point; and several cousins.
Chuck was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Miller; his brother, Michael Miller; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Armed Forces Reserve Center on Route 72 South toward Rowlesburg from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 8 and from 2-8 p.m. Friday, April 9, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, with Pastor Joe Lamm officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Run Cemetery.
Masks and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and funeral service.
