Scott Stevenson

Scott Allen Stevenson, 44 of Newburg, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was born April 19, 1976, in Kingwood, son of Arnold and Debra Lyons Stevenson, of Newburg.

Scott graduated from Preston High School, Class of 1994. Scott was a tree climber and part owner with his dad, Arnold, in the family business, Arnold’s Tree Service. He previously worked for Davey’s Tree Service and Penn Line as a foreman. He also had worked for the Laborer’s Union and Jenmar.
Scott enjoyed riding his side-by-side and camping at Big Bear with his family, two wonderful daughters and niece and nephew.

In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by two daughters, Anna Marie Stevenson, of Arthurdale, and Laelah Grace Stevenson, of Morgantown; one sister, Melissa Dawn Beavers and Michael, of Grafton; one niece, Kelsey Shahan; one nephew, Blaine Shahan, both of Newburg; one great-nephew, Kayden Beavers, of Newburg; one great-niece, Aubreella Flood, of Newburg; four uncles, Ronald Stevenson and Lecia, of Vigrinia, Keith Stevenson and companion, Carol, of Virginia, Steve Stevenson and Candy, of Lost River, and Robert Lyons and Mary, of Newburg; five aunts, Kenlyn Kerr and Rob, of Lost River, Elizabeth Conley and Darren, of Virginia, Cathy McGee and Robert, of Kingwood, Patricia Deal, of Kingwood, and Donna Nutter and William “Bill,” of Newburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Alberta (Trickett) Lyons; paternal grandparents, Roy and Judy (Everet) Stevenson; and two nephews, John Lyons and Christopher Nutter.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg from 1-7 p.m. Saturday, March 27, and from 11 a.m. Sunday, March 28 until the service at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at the Shay Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to his Care Fund on his memorial page.
