BLACKSVILLE, W.Va. — The Clay-Battelle girls’ basketball team got out to an early 13-point lead against Valley (Wetzel) in the first quarter and never looked back Tuesday, March 23, to secure a 60-43 victory.
Valley (Wetzel) never really threatened after that, scoring no more than just 14 points in the remaining three quarters.
“After a loss last night to Cameron at home, where Alivia Ammons was held to 11 points on a rough shooting night, she exploded tonight for 28 on the road,” C-B coach David Joyce said. “A great team effort as (Cam) Watson and (Autumn) Stewart played tough in the paint.”
Liv Ammons led Clay-Battelle in scoring with 28 points, hitting three 3-pointers in the process. Watson also netted 16 points and Stewart added 10.
The Cee-Bees will play again at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, against Madonna.
