MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Kaitlyn Ammons scored 21 points, including her 1,000th career point, as the Morgantown High girls’ basketball team defeated John Marshall, 65-32, on Monday, March 22.
Since it was Senior Night, the Mohigans honored four seniors — Ammons, Berit Johnson, Reece Moore and Cat Wassick in a pregame ceremony.
“We got off to a great start tonight, leading 22-10 at the end of the first quarter, with Ammons scoring 12 in the quarter,” Morgantown head coach Jason White said. “Tonight was a great opportunity to get everyone a ton of time and to work on executing on both ends of the floor. Really proud of these four seniors for the leadership they have displayed and the dedication and sacrifices they have made to make our program better. A special night made even more special by Kaitlyn scoring her 1,000th point at home on Senior Night. I know that was a goal of hers coming in as a freshmen and it was so great to see her achieve it on Senior Night.”
Wassick scored 11 points and Revaya Sweeney added 10 for the Mohigans (3-1).
MHS will play again at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Trinity.
