Stonewall Resort’s culinary team has partnered with local and national beer, wine and moonshine purveyors to create two events showcasing menus that complement featured beverages.
The Hops & Grapes Wine & Beer Experience, which is set for 6:30-9:30 p.m. March 19, includes back-to-back wine and beer tasting workshops followed by a stand-and-dine pairing event. West Virginia’s Bridge Brew Works is the featured brewer, and wines from California’s Delicato Family Wines will also be showcased.
During these workshops, guests will learn about how perceived flavors change when paired with specific foods. Following the workshops, the sampling continues into the evening while pairing different beer and wine with a variety of appetizers.
The cost to participate, which includes two tasting classes, the pairing event and overnight accommodations in the resort lodge, starts at $299 per couple.
The Moonshine & Suppertime: A Taste of Appalachia dinner features a menu of Appalachian soul food paired with West Virginia moonshine and hard cider from The Original Hatfield Family Moonshine and Swilled Dog Cider. The event will be held from 6:30-10:30 p.m. March 20. Music will be performed by Dustin McCray.
The menu includes oven- fried corn bread; garlic buttermilk biscuits; App-alachian apple and goat cheese salad with apple butter dressing; cream cheese, spinach, and breakfast sausage dip; apple cider chicken and dumplings; pan-fried pork chops with peppermill gravy; and, fried potatoes with bacon and ramps.
The event package, which includes overnight accommodations, entrance to the event and two complimentary moonshine cocktails or hard ciders, is $299 per couple.
Both events will feature limited capacity and socially distanced set-ups.
