Dorsey Lee Weaver, 77, died on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at Rosewood Center in Grafton.
Dorsey was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Tunnelton, a son of the late Gordon and Marie Lora (Britton) Weaver.
He was a 1961 graduate of Tunnelton High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Dorsey worked at Giant Foods then retired as a master plumber in 2005, with over 40 years of employment, and was a member of Plumber Union Local No. 5 in Maryland. He enjoyed bowling and race cars.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Loretta (Uphold) Weaver; one son and spouse, Scott and Doris Weaver, of Linden, Va.; two daughters and spouses, Jodi and Jack Redman, of Fredericksburg, Md., and Lori and Jerry Champaign, of Clarksburg; one brother and spouse, Herbert and Linda Weaver; two sisters and spouses, Pearl and Pete Wilson, of Tunnelton, and Nina and Jimmy Sheets, of Terra Alta; six grandchildren, Daniel Weaver, Olivia Redman, Max Redman, Darby Redman, Taylor Champaign and Peyton Champaign; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Lucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick A. “Pat” Weaver and Wesley “Pete” Weaver; niece, Angie Weaver; and nephew, Mitch Weaver.
Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel,
295 South Price St., from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 1, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, until the time of the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount View Cemetery. Social distancing and masks are required.
