Betty Frances Johnson, 88, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Russell and Ruth (Brown) Dean. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Johnson, who passed away in 2016.
Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of University High School and retired from Sterling Faucet after many years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the Cheat Lake Farmers Market every Monday and spent many years watching her husband race at the Morgantown Speedway. Betty had a great sense of humor and a kind, generous heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Blaney, of Uniontown, Pa.; special nephew, Harry “George” Leydig and his wife Judy, of Gibsonville, N.C.; great-niece, Summer Dodson and her husband Craig; and great-great-niece, Camryn Dodson. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Dean.
Private services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home with interment to take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
