MORGANTOWN – Here is a sampling of bills and resolutions introduced Monday, Feb. 22. Local lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

  • SB 376 and 382, to remove the requirement that the Division of Highways set standards and regulate studded tires. Sen. Charles Clements, R-Wetzel, lead sponsor.
  • SB 391, to provide for a departmental study of the child protective services and foster care workforce: to ensure caseworkers have manageable workloads; to see if factors such as child population and poverty rate should be incorporated into the analysis for allocating caseworkers across the state; and conduct a survey of the salaries and benefits of caseworkers in neighboring states. Sen Mike Maroney, R-Marshall, lead sponsor.
  • SB 373 and HB 2026, from the governor, to modernize the collection of income taxes by adopting uniform treatment of mobile employee income, and other measures.
