MORGANTOWN – According to a joint press release by Monongalia County Deputy Superintendent Donna Talerico and Supervisor of School Health Susan Haslebacher, five positive COVID-19 cases were linked to the Morgantown High athletics program.
Proper disinfection protocols were taken, and according to MHS Athletic Director John Bowers, “We are all back and ready to go,” he told The Dominion Post.
Bowers further noted contact tracing showed the virus stopped with the sources, a stroke of good luck as sanctioned practices have been reinstated for winter sports amid a constant barrage of winter storms. Because of the tightened season, the required 14 days of practice runs close to the opening day of contests for many schools.
If any new developments occur, The Dominion Post will report on them.
