Loretta Sponaugle Harman, 86, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Morgantown. She was born on Sept. 9, 1934, the daughter of the late William Letcher and Leona (Arbogast) Sponaugle. Loretta married Clinton Daniel Harman, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2018.
Mrs. Harman was a graduate of Circleville High School and had worked as a realtor for Dorothy Root Real Estate. She was a member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Church in Morgantown.
Mrs. Harman is survived by a daughter, Patricia Harman, of Morgantown; a son, David Harman (Jamie), of Elkview; and three sisters, Rhea Nelson, Grethel Bennett and Merlie Long. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma Sponaugle, Sudie Sponaugle, Nola Wimer and Rosie Sponaugle; and six brothers, Anthony “Tony,” Roche, Jacob “Jake,” Olin “Buddy,” Herbert and Dwight Sponaugle.
A Zoom memorial service will be held at the Bible Center Church in Morgantown at noon Thursday, Feb. 18 with Pastors Matt Friend and Neil Leftwich officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. A graveside service will be held at North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice. Memories and words of comfort may be left on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
