Barbara Bragg

Barbara Ann Bragg, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Dec. 14, 1936, at Friendsville, Md., a daughter of the late Elmer Smith and Lucille Hockenberry Strosnider.

Ann was retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education. She first worked as a secretary for the elementary schools, then as a secretary at Clay-Battelle High School and lastly at the board office.
She was always active in civic and community affairs. She served as recorder for the Town of Blacksville for many years, served on the Blacksville Cemetery Association, served as secretary of the Blacksville United Methodist Church and was active in the Red Hat Society.

Ann was a sweet lady and friend and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She was a lifetime member of the Blacksville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Garry Rush, of Statler Run Road, and Jeff and Mary Alice Rush, of Blacksville; one daughter, Denita Smith, of Morgantown; one half-sister, Joleen Soul, of Rivesville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shane Smith, Luke Smith, Samantha and Jesse Phillips, Zachery and Andrea Rush, Brian Rush and Jamie Rush; and five great-grandchildren, Evie, Jaxon, Lincoln, Abby and Hennessey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Joe Rush; second husband, Early Bragg; one son, Larry Allen Rush; and one half brother, Michael Strosnider.

Friends may call at the Blacksville United Methodist Church from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. John Brosky officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
