Alberta L. Savage, 99, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at Stonerise Morgantown.
Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Preston County, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Delia (Sines) Chidester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Savage; a daughter, Joan Dixon; son-in-law, Frank Hamilton; a grandson; and seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Savage was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Alberta was a homemaker, member of Easton Avery Homemakers and Keeler Glade Church of God. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting and gardening and her favorite pastime was playing Scrabble.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth (Kenneth) Glotfelty, of Carlisle, Pa., Diane (Dick) Sisler, of Friendsville, Md., Betty Hamilton, of Star City; son-in-law, Bernard Dixon, of Friendsville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Avenue, Friendsville, Md., from noon-2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Daniel Sisler officiating. Interment will be in Blooming Rose Cemetery.
