Three people were arrested by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force following a traffic stop and hotel room search on Monday.
Charles Curry Johnson, 29, of Detroit, is charged with possession of heroin with intent. Debbie Burch, 62, of Grafton and Shannon Foster, 39, of Anchorage, Alaska, also face that charge. However, a magistrate clerk told The Dominion Post the charges against the two women were going to be changed to misdemeanor possession.
Johnson was sitting in the back seat in a vehicle that was stopped for probable cause on W. Va. 705, according to a criminal complaint.
Over three ounces of heroin were found on the rear passenger side floor where he was sitting, the complaint said.
Surveillance units saw Johnson get into the car at a hotel, the complaint said.
Burch and Foster were also part of that traffic stop and a “quantity” of heroin was found in each of their purses, according to criminal complaints.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, the passengers and a hotel room at the Holiday Inn, according to Johnson’s complaint.
The Dominion Post was unable to reach the task force for additional information.
Johnson is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $50,00 bond. Burch and Foster are being held on $25,000 bond.
