Maymie Schiffbauer

Maymie Belle “Sister” Schiffbauer, 98, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at her home. Maymie was born May 16, 1922, in Maidsville, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Isenhart and Carrie Wilson Isenhart.

Maymie had worked as the manager and cook at Agways Restaurant in Osage and also at the Monongalia Hospital Laundry. She was also a member of the Pierpont Church of the Nazarene.

Maymie enjoyed music and, as a teenager, she played and sang with her family on WAJR. In her spare time, Maymie enjoyed sewing, hooking rugs, jigsaw puzzles, gardening and cooking; no one went hungry at her house. She loved cats, dogs and feeding the birds.

Maymie possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was a wonderful encourager to her granddaughters to share their talents and went to as many of their competitions, concerts and plays as she could.

Maymie is survived by her son, Earl and wife Karen Schiffbauer; her daughter, Cheryl and husband Rick Rudash; and her granddaughter, Elisabeth Schiffbauer, all of Morgantown.

Maymie was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Albert L. Schiffbauer, in 2001; her granddaughter, Stephanie Rudash, in 2015; and brothers, Merle, Earl and Deryl Isenhart.
