Kathryn DeBastiani, 82, of Arthurdale, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown. She was born in Morgantown, on March 9, 1938, a daughter of the late William H. and Augusta B. Miller Radabaugh.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She worked as an office manager for Foodland in Reedsville, a member of the Arthurdale Women’s Club, and St. Zita Catholic Church Altar Society.
Kathryn is survived by her sons, Doug DeBastiani and wife Sheila, of Zebulon, N.C., Eric DeBastiani and wife Brenda, of Morgantown, and Mark DeBastiani and fiancé Lisa Knapp, of Boone, N.C.; her daughter, Lori Hunter and husband Greg, of Morgantown; her sister, Norma Brown; six grandchildren: Zachary and wife Jen, Cody, Megan, Ben, Maria and Maddy; and her great-grandson, Logan.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Mario “Mert” DeBastiani; six brothers: Robert, Kenneth, Jim, Dennis “Sam,” Darrell “Jeep” and Harold “Rattle”; and five sisters: Wanda, Doris, Margaret, Beulah and Leona.
Family will receive friends at Morgan Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22. A Catholic funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 with the Rev. S.A. Arokiadass, H.G.N. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Arthurdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthurdale Heritage Foundation.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mapleshire, especially the B Wing, for all their loving care given to Mom during her stay. Morgan Funeral Home is honored to serve the DeBastiani family.
