Shirley Ann Howell Baker, 84, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at her home. She was born June 21, 1936, in Morgantown, a daughter to Charles Scott Howell and Letia Wahnetia Henderson Howell.
Shirley was a homemaker for many years and loved crossword puzzles, never missed Jeopardy, and loved her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Great.”
She is survived by her children, Linda Triplett, Dan Baker, Kim Mason (Tom) and Jennifer Robey, all of Morgantown. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Long, of Morgantown, and Pat Browning, of Ravenna, Ohio; aunt Joan Milinovich, of Rock Cave, Ariz.; many special nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Evelyn Jean Baker, of Westover; and brother-in-law, Bob Drury, of Allison Park, Pa.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Baker Jr.; son Donald Scott Baker; grandson, Daniel Joseph Baker Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica Kayleen Hussell; two brothers, Charles Richard Howell and David Orth Howell; two sisters, Mary Louise Howell Roush and Barbara Jean Howell England.
Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 until the time of services at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
All visitors and guests will be asked to properly wear a face covering, socially distance and limit their time to no more than 15 minutes.
