Douglas Lee Butler, 43, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at WVU Medicine — J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long period of declining health.
He was born July 29, 1977, in Morgantown, a son of John William and Rebecca Lynn (Eberly) Butler.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, John Robert Butler, of Cheat Lake, and George Michael Butler, of Morgantown; a half sister, Stephanie Patterson and husband Ryan, of Pennsylvania; and four nieces, Bethany and Cassie Butler, Peyton Patterson and Tabitha Shuman.
A brother, James, preceded him in death.
Doug was a good-hearted and hard-working guy who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
After a private visitation for family and invited guests, Doug will be cremated and inurned with his brother, James, in the Fletcher Cemetery at a later date.
