App helps buyers search properties

Compass Realty says 90% use mobile devices

Compass Realty Group of Morgantown has launched a new — and free — app for its clients called Almost Heaven Home Guide, which is geared toward properties in north-central West Virginia.

C’Anna Brown, a Compass realtor, said the app came about because 90% of consumers now search for homes on mobile devices.

“However, our area has been behind the curve when it comes to meeting consumers where they are: on their phones and tablets,” Brown said. “In addition to consumers being so heavily engaged on mobile devices, there’s a recurring theme with other real-estate focused apps and websites that are commonly used by consumers: they’re not accurate.”

Brown said the Almost Heaven app gives people real-time information directly from realtors.

“We wanted to address both of these issues and offer consumers in our region the ability to browse real estate from the convenience of their devices, while providing real-time data that’s pulled directly from our local MLS (multi-listing service).

Users have to register to use the Almost Heaven Home Guide by providing their email and a telephone number.  The app, which features all residential listings, including land in north-central West Virginia, is available to download now on iTunes and Google Play.

“Being an independent brokerage, we’re very excited to bring this type of technology, service and experience right to people’s fingertips. We feel that it’s going to provide an easy-to-use, high-quality experience for those looking to buy or sell real estate in our region.”
