Franklin Todd Rexroad, 51, of Bruceton Mills, passed away suddenly at his home in Bruceton Mills, on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020. The son of James Thomas Rexroad and the late Carole Ann Loraw Rexroad, Todd was born on April 22, 1969, in Morgantown.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Todd became a licensed auctioneer in 1987 and was one of the best. He sold livestock, antiques, estates and many, many cars. Todd was his father’s shadow. He ran the family business, Rexroad Auction Services, and farmed beside his father for many years. He also worked for Penn Line, drove tankers for BFS Petroleum and traveled many miles to work at car auctions. Todd was a graduate of Bruceton High School and spent his entire life in the community that he loved so dearly. He loved spending time with his kids and working the farm. He also loved riding four-wheelers, hunting, fishing and NASCAR, but his true love was Dale Earnhardt, in that black number 3 Chevy. A hard worker and extremely fun to be around, Todd was a beloved friend, father and son who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Abbie and Jacob Rexroad; his father, James Rexroad; his siblings, Bob Rexroad and his wife Renee, Sarah Rexroad and Kathy Jo Bartlett; many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Melanie McAllise.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Bruceton High School Alumni Association, Attn: Vera Mitchell, P.O. Box 207, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525 or Preston County FFA Alumni, Attn: Peggy Galloway, 507 Galloway Road, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525.
Due to COVID-19, there will not be a service at this time. Todd’s ashes will be spread at his favorite place, the Rexroad Farm. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, is providing cremation services. The family welcomes condolences on the funeral home website.
