Betty S. Bell, 95, of Rowlesburg, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.
Betty was born March 18, 1925, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Donna (Riggs) Steele and Lawrence H. Steele.
Betty was a legal secretary for a law firm in Uniontown, Pa. She retired as an administrator from Comsat in 1988. She attended Seton Hill University in Greenburg, Pa., was a life member of the VFW Post # 3008 Ladies Auxiliary in Rowlesburg and was a member of St. Michael Episcopal Church in Kingwood. Betty’s home was always open to everyone from children to adults and even the neighborhood pets, including the strays.
She is survived by one son and spouse, Robert H. and Ruth Shannon Jr., of Edgemont, S.D.: three daughters and spouse, Donna McNeil, of Masontown, W.Va., Patricia J. Wotring, of Rowlesburg, and H. Joyce Bolyard and husband Danny, of Tunnelton; 10 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Steele.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22 until 3 p.m., the time of the funeral service, with the Rev. Frances J. McCoy and Pastor Wendy Browne officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood.
