J.W. Ruby Research Farm property in Reedsville catches fire

REEDSVILLE — The Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a possible brush fire Wednesday night and found a burning building.
The fire was at the WVU Farm at 91 W Road, Arthurdale, according to RVFD Fire Chief Scott Spiker.
Firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
A WVU spokesperson said the fire was reported about 7 p.m. Wednesday in an old barn at the J.W. Ruby Research Farm in Reedsville.
No one was injure, but the barn was destroyed. It’s been deemed a total loss, the spokesperson said.
Prior to the fire, the building had limited use as a storage facility.
Reedsville was assisted by Masontown, Kingwood and Cool Springs volunteer fire departments and KAMP Ambulance. They were on scene for two hours. No injuries were reported.
