Robert Maynard “Bobby” Pride, 74, of Star City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born April 19, 1946, in Morgantown, a son of the late Dr. Maynard Prince Pride and Frances Barnes Pride.
He was a graduate of Morgantown High School, retired from Chico Dairy Co. and was also a member of the West Virginia National Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was actively involved in his church, Star City Christian Assembly.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 47 years, Samuella “Sammie” Ferrise Pride; his children, Marsha Pride, of Orlando, Fla., and Robert I. Pride, of Star City; a grandson, Eric Bethea Jr., of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Jack Pride, of Franklin, Tenn.; sisters, Janet (Keith) Anderson, of Charlotte, N.C., Amy Pride-McNutt, of Morgantown, and Heidi (Mark) Mallory, of North Hollywood, Calif.; stepmother, Carol Sue Pride, of Morgantown; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Matilda Prete Ferrise.
Public visitation will be at Dering-Henson Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 16. There will be no public services and burial will be private. Due to the COVID pandemic, face masks are required as well as social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested and may be sent to the West Virginia Autism Training Center, 1 John Marshall Drive, Suite 316, Huntington WV 25755.
