Phoebe Mae (Gabeletto) Hamilton, 89, of Bertha Hill, passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at her home. She was born on Feb. 13, 1931, in Masontown, Pa., the daughter of the late Ralph and Daisy Gabeletto.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a teacher’s aide and as a bus aide for the Mon County Board of Education for a total of 40 years. During her younger years, she enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, her bus trips to Atlantic City, N.J., trips to Canaan Valley, family trips to Myrtle Beach and loved her scratch offs.
Phoebe is survived by her children, Trudy Goff and husband Larry, Diane Sanders, Harold “Bo” Hamilton, Bill Hamilton and wife Bobbi and John Hamilton and wife Deniece; and her daughter-in-law, Betty Hamilton. She was Grammy to 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hamilton Jr., who passed in 1996 and her son, Frank Hamilton. Also, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home/Omega Crematory. She will be laid to rest along with her husband at East Oak Grove Cemetery at a private graveside service.
