Monty Hardesty

Monty Hale Hardesty, 59, of Morgantown, passed away early Sunday morning, Dec. 6, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.

Monty was born Aug. 7, 1961, in Oakland, Md., and was a son of Janet Dillsworth Jenkins, of Morgantown, and the late Noah Hardesty.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Brenda Sue Harmon Hardesty; a daughter, Tina Salsberry and husband Mark; five grandchildren, Sheanna Danko and husband Chris, Jeffrey Husk and wife Rachel, Devin Rebold, Brenda Buffington and husband Gage and Nina Salsberry and husband Jarred; six great-grandchildren Haily, Faelynn, Colden, Nadia, Neveah and Romani; siblings Sherry Braham and husband Terry and George Lancaster and wife Brenda; two nephews, Zach and Devin; and a niece, Sammy.

Monty enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his friends. He was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for several different companies.

Friends may join the family to honor Monty’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 until the time of the service at noon officiated by Pastor Nathan Gooden. Following the funeral service and in accordance with his request, Monty will be cremated.
