Margaret Maxson, 91, a resident, of Morgantown for the last four years, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at WVU Medicine — J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Margaret was born May 31, 1929 in Philadelphia and was the daughter of Margaret (Weber) MacCrory.
Margaret is survived by her children, Craig and his wife Pamela Shrimpton, of Hawley, Mass., and Susan Costa, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Aaron Costa, of Pittsburgh, Ashley Moses and her husband Mark and Alana Costa, all of Morgantown, and Hannah and husband Joshua Carrasco, of Boston; a great-granddaughter, Violet Carrasco; a sister, Helene Burris, of Spring, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Jean MacCrory, of Lewes, Del.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Maxson; and a brother, John MacCrory.
Margaret was originally from New Jersey and then moved to Amherst, Mass., where she owned a travel agency and traveled the world many times. From there, she moved to Sarasota, Fla., where she continued to work for several major airlines as well as a travel agency specializing in cruise travels before finally retiring after more than 30 years.
Margaret’s request for cremation has been honored by her family.
