David “Jiggs” Summers, 56, of Mountainview Road, Morgantown passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, after a three-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Dave was born in Morgantown on Dec. 9, 1963, a son of the late Howard and Beulah Summers.
He worked at Hilling Lumber Company and most recently at Greer Limestone. He was a member of the Mountainview Pentecostal Church.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He Enjoyed dirt car races, where he helped on the pit crew for Outlaws, Gary Dalton, D2, Nolan Dalton, Denzil Turner excavating and Louie Krushansky. He was a big fan of The Pittsburgh Steelers, where he liked a good argument “Black and Gold all the way BABY.”
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Noreen Hart Summers; two daughters, Bethany Hilling and her husband Devin, and Kristen Summers; his grandchildren, Noah, Freya, Kynslee, Kohen, Kynna and unborn granddaughter, Rielynn, due in February 2021; two sisters, Mary Cress and her husband Lee and Deb Summers; a brother, Kenny and his wife Lisa; mother-in-law, Shelby Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, David Summers Jr., a brother, Donald Summers; and his father-in-law, Henry “June” Hart.
Family and friends may call at the Mount View Pentecostal Church, Mount View Road from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, until the time of services at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery on the Kingwood Pike. Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
