Virginia Wisniewski

Virginia Mae Mildred (Kovacich) Wisniewski, 87 loving wife and mother, of Victory Ave., Grafton, passed away at her home on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020.

She was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mildred (Macaldo) Kovacich.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard H. “Dick” Wisniewski; one daughter, Maria V. Bandy (Steven), of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Richard S. Wisniewski (Jamie), of Harmony, Pa., and Joseph R. Wisniewski (Elizabeth), of Clearwater, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Staudt, of Lima, Ohio; and two brothers, Stephen and Michael Kovacich, both of Pittsburgh.

Virginia was raised in Pittsburgh and attended St. Benedict’s Academy for Girls. She worked at AT&T and Rosenbaum’s Department Store. In 1959 she married Richard H. Wisniewski. In 1965 they moved to Grafton where they raised their three children.

Virginia was an active member of the St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.

She was an avid reader, and volunteered and worked as a library assistant at the Taylor County Library. Later on, she also worked at the Tygart Lake State Park as a receptionist. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and the show “The Walking Dead.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton. There will be no viewing and, per her wishes, there will be a private mass of burial for the immediate family. Entombment will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery (Holy Family Masoleum) Pittsburgh, PA.

Virginia will be greatly missed.
