Chadwick “Chad” Chapman, 54, of Morgantown, passed away in his home on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, following a long illness. Chad was born Aug. 18, 1966 in Pontiac, Mich. to Rose (Schifano) Chapman and Ralph N. “Tony” Chapman. Soon after, he moved with his family to Kingwood, where he went to school.
After graduating Central Preston High School in 1984, Chad, at first, attended Potomac State and then Fairmont State, finally deciding to pursue a trade. Thus, he attended the Technician Training School in McKees Rocks, Pa., graduating in 1988 with a certification in bricklaying.
Afterward, Chad had masonry positions, beginning with Garland Construction in Virginia, to Potomac Masonry in Maryland, and continuing with other companies before beginning his own masonry operation in 1992. In the 2000s, he obtained property and began business as a lessor.
Throughout his childhood education, Chad played football and baseball, sports that he loved. His top interests as an adult were Harley Davidson motorcycles, muscle cars and rock music (particularly metal). His hobbies included playing cards with his friends and board games with his mother.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He was devoted to his mother, and her to him; with heartfelt joy, they meet again.
He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, paternal aunts and many cousins.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 24. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Star City at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Friar John McDonough as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
