Lois Shriver Jenkins, 88, of Core, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, in Morgantown. Lois was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Wadestown, the daughter of the late Charles and Virgie Whitlatch Shriver.
Lois was a member of the Olive United Methodist Church and a member of the Christian Fellowship Class of that church. She was a 1951 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and a member of the “Lunch Bunch” classmates who met once a month for lunch.
Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed visiting on the telephone with her many dear friends and her cousins. She loved people and never saw a stranger.
Lois is survived by her son, Glenn Jenkins, of Core; daughter, Janet Coen, of Core; daughter-in-law, Paula Jenkins, of Core; grandchildren, Ella Jo Connor and husband James, Amanda Stull and husband Michael, Abigail Camper and husband Tyler and Rachel and Rebecca Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Roselynn Jo Tennant and companion Levi Suarez, Emma Joann Stull, Joshua Ryan Connor, Aiden Caleb Stull and Eleanor Quinn Camper; and great-great-grandchild, Layton Charlie Suarez.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Jenkins; son, Charles Jenkins; brother, Floyd Shriver, foster sister, Dorothy Cross Metheney Hudson; son-in-law, Harold Coen; and daughter-in-law, Eleanor Lynn Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Olive United Methodist Church, P.O. Box B, Pentress, WV 26544 and Valley Chapel United Methodist Church., c/o Linda Tennant, 140 Whistler Run Road, Burton, WV 26562.
Private services are being held at Olive United Methodist Church on Monday at 11 am with Pastors John Brosky and Rose Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
