Denzil F. Taylor, 86, of Warren, passed away on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, peacefully at his home. He was in Hospice care after a battle with cancer. Denzil was born Dec. 4, 1933 in Masontown, W.Va., the son of Lucille and Wade Taylor.
He graduated in 1952 from Masontown High School. Denzil began and ended his career at Packard Electric.
Denzil was an avid hunter of turkey and deer all of his life and had many adventures at the farm in West Virginia. He loved to golf all year long in Warren, Ohio and his winter home in Florida and was on multiple golf leagues and a traveling golf league. He was a member of McKinley Community Church, the Masonic Lodge and IOOF.
Denzil traveled extensively throughout the world with his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Virginia Taylor. She preceded Denzil in death 11 months ago. They enjoyed spending quality time with their children and grandchildren.
They leave behind two daughters, Marsha (Mike) Sample, of Middletown, Ohio and Patricia (Jim) Wilkes, of Champion, Ohio; five grandchildren, Patrick Wilkes, of Virginia, Stephanie (Aaron) Todd, of Montana, Jaime (Matt) Barnett, of West Virginia, Jessica (Evan) Wirtley, of Ohio and Tommy Wilkes (Sarah McGhee), of Ohio; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Denzil was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at McKinley Community Church, 1524 Elm Road Warren, Ohio 44483 at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 for both Denzil and Virginia. Masks and social distancing will be observed. A live stream of the memorial service will be available. Please ask the family for more information.
