In partnership with PlayWorks, Pittsburgh-based children’s charity Variety distributed adaptive mobility equipment — including six adaptive bikes — to area children with disabilities Thursday at Mountaineer Mall.
Variety, which focuses on kids with special needs, expanded its programs to include 12 West Virginia counties. Since then, more than 370 adaptive bikes, adaptive strollers and communication devices have been presented to kids.
PlayWorks provides occupational, physical and speech therapy for children and adults with special needs.
