The Monongalia Arts Center welcomes a new exhibit of fine arts ceramics created by WVU BFA senior Amy Sanders.
“Shared Moments” is a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts exhibition of utilitarian wares that are meant to enrich the users’ daily lives with moments of bliss and togetherness.
The exhibit is housed in the MAC’s Benedum Gallery, where it is on display through Nov. 27. Although some pieces will not be for sale, the majority of the work will be available for the public to buy with prices ranging from $20-$100.
Sanders was born in Yueyang, Hunan, China, and raised in Allentown, Pa.
When asked about her exhibition, she said, “In today’s busy lifestyle, sitting down to share a meal has become an obsolete practice. For this reason, I create tableware to encourage my users to make shared meals a more common practice.
“I imagine my work being used by family and friends gathering together to create memories. Whether it be an elegant dinner party, a simple lunch, or just a shared cup of coffee; my hope is to bring people together.”
MAC is at 107 High St. Inquiries should be directed to info@monartscenter.com or 304-292-3325.
