KINGWOOD — Although the numbers are unofficial, it appears incumbent Republican Terry Funk Sypolt took the 52nd District House of Delegates with a lead of 908 votes.
Sypolt received 3,427 votes and her opponent, Democrat Junior “JR” Wolfe, received 2,519.
“I am overwhelmed by the support I received,” Sypolt said. “I would like everyone to know how much I appreciate their support and past support. I will continue to work on the issues at hand and continue to be their conservative voice.”
Prior to her four years as a West Virginia state delegate, Sypolt served as Preston County Assessor for 16 years.
Wolfe has been a member of Rotary International since 2002. During that period, he led a team to the Philippines, where he stayed for a month, sharing with Rotarians there about U.S. government, culture and home lives.
Wolfe did not return a call in time for this report.
