Wesley Stump, 43, of Morgantown, passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 24, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 27, 1977, in Morgantown, a son of Larry Stump, of Morgantown, and Tammy Lee Christopher — Barnhouse and her husband Tom, of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Grace Waugh; his son who he absolutely adored, Conall; a brother, Bryan Stump; a stepbrother, Tommy Barnhouse; his maternal grandmother, Donna Heater; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Kimberly Waugh; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Waugh; aunts and uncles including Janet, Butch, Becky, Jerry, Laura, Jim, Rita, Jimmy, Tom, Susie and Anita; a list of friends who will miss him too immeasurable to fathom; and his faithful canine companion, Pork Chop.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bob Christopher; paternal grandparents, Gaylord and Mary Stump; maternal grandfather, Carroll “Red” Heater; an aunt, Karen; and two uncles, Richard and Randy.
He worked as a perioperative care associate at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, a position he held there until the time of his passing. Wes was a member of the Morgantown Elks Lodge #411 where he tended bar part-time. He was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. He loved woodworking and camping. He rooted on his Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers. In high school, he was on the rifle team and was an excellent marksman.
While he was here, he lived. He enjoyed and made the most of his life, in whatever part of his life that he was living. Wes made every single second count, and he would want you to do the same.
Family and friends may join to honor Wes’s life and legacy at the Morgantown Elks Lodge #411, 1138 Chestnut Ridge Road, Morgantown from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. At Wes’s request, following the visitation, he will be cremated.
All guests in attendance must wear a face covering and practice all social distancing guidelines.
