Carl Dewey Nicholson, 63, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday Oct. 24, 2020.
He was born May 14, 1957 in Morgantown, the son of Elmer and the late Mildred (Dalton) Nicholson.
He was a machinist at Morgantown Machine for many years. He also worked at several local sawmills in the area. Dewey never met a stranger. He had many friends and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler. Dewey had a heart of gold and a personality that drew people to him. He was a loving person to all.
In addition to his father, Elmer A. Nicholson, Dewey is survived by his daughter, Carla Wheeler (Rodney) and two sons Carl David Nicholson (Keitha) and George Nicholson (Pam); seven grandchildren; sister, Carol Davis; brothers, Dave Nicholson (Pam) and Terry Nicholson (Holly); sister, Tracey Dailey (Nathan); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Dewey was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother-in-law Joe Davis.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 and again at Nicholson Chapel from 9 a.m. Thursday Oct. 29 until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
