Herbert Denzil Blosser, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29 at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Morgantown, a son of the late Herbert and Mildred (Knight) Blosser.
Mr. Blosser was a Christian by faith and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime coal miner at Humphrey #7 and was in Union #1058. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, tinkering with cars, travelling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra (Staggs) Blosser; sons, Darryl, Allen and Mark Blosser; siblings, Doris McMillen and Dale Blosser and his wife, Nelvie; along with eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Florence Blosser, Melvin Blosser, Virginia “Sissy” Blosser, Howard “Buck” Blosser, Linda “Pixie” Dalton, Ronald Blosser, Lorna Blosser, Lora Blosser and Herbert Melvin Blosser.
Friends and family will be received for visiting at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2. Although guests are invited to come visit, they are strongly urged to abide by CDC pandemic outlines, including social distancing from one another, wearing masks and avoiding contact with others.
