Josephine Angela Priolette, 95, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2020, at Fitzwater Assisted Living Facility in Fairmont, where she was loved and cared for the last four and a half years.
Josephine owned and operated Morrone’s Dairy Mart, earlier known as Morrone’s Store for nearly 55 years. She retired at 75 years old. She graciously accepted the title of “famous pepperoni roll lady.” She lived to fuel her community with pepperoni rolls, pizza and love. They were loved by many people throughout the state and beyond its borders.
She enjoyed her years of retirement by cooking and teaching her grandchildren her favorite recipes. She was of Catholic faith and a faithful member of St. Peters of Fisherman Church.
Josephine is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Durham and husband David, of Morgantown; brother, Samuel Joseph Morrone, of Fairmont; her dear niece, Antionette Haught, of Fairmont; many other nieces and nephews; three grandchildren, John David Priolette, of Fairmont, Angela Holtzman and husband, Eric, of Pittsburgh, and Leigh Aiken and husband Gareth, of Pittsburgh; as well as five great-grandchildren; Taijannah Parker, Jayden and Lukus Priolette and August and Grayson Holtzman.
Her death was preceded by husband John “Hammer” Priolette; son, Paul Priolette; granddaughter, Tina Priolette; parents, Joseph and Angela Morrone; sisters, Mary Urse and Lucy DeCarlo; and brothers, Paul Morrone and Octavis Morrone.
A private Catholic Funeral Liturgy for the family will be celebrated at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Josephine Priolette to the Alzheimer’s Association, WV Chapter, 1601 2nd Ave. Charleston, WV 25387 or the WVU Hospice, ATTN: Hospice 327 Medical Park Drive Bridgeport, WV 26330.
