MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons unveiled the 2020 fall tennis schedule Tuesday.
WVU is scheduled to take part in the 2020 Fall Circuit, presented by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and Universal Tennis.
“It’s exciting to be under way with our fall semester and have the opportunity to compete and train when so many other college teams may not have the same chance this fall,” WVU coach Miha Lisac said. “Our administration and health professionals have done a fabulous job, and we thank them for their support and for helping us make this happen.”
The Mountaineers begin fall competition at The Greenbrier site in White Sulphur Springs, from Oct. 16-18. The team then returns to Morgantown to play at the Summit Tennis Academy site, from Oct. 23-25, to conclude its fall season.
The new tour consists of a 10-week circuit this fall, giving players the opportunity to participate in competition and have their scores count toward the Universal Tennis Rating. When match scores count for UTR, players can continue to play locally and have their matches count for a global rating, allowing them to track their progress and showcase their game.
