Clancy Ruth Clark, 73, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11 at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi where she made her home with her husband of 25 years. She was born in Morgantown, on Feb. 6, 1947, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Jane Gregory, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Eston Kirkland, of Dougals, Ga.
She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Alvin Clark; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Kristie Gregory, of Morgantown; her son, Lee Kirkland, also of Morgantown; a grandson, Zachary Kirkland, of Douglas, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Kirkland, of Douglas, Ga.
Clancy Ruth graduated from Morgantown High School. Prior to moving to Mississippi, she worked and lived in Douglas, Ga. In midlife, she graduated from South Georgia College with a nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse.
As per Clancy’s wishes she will be cremated. Arrangements are being handled by Jackson Memorial Funeral Service, located at 1000 W. Woodrow Wilson Ave. Jackson, MS 39213. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.
Donations will be accepted by the family to assist with the Clancy’s medical expenses.
