Madeline Rose (Zuchowski) Trickett, 87, of Arthurdale, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, from her home with family by her side.
Madeline was born April 2, 1933, in Howesville, a daughter of the late Thomas Faye and Katherine Rose (Powroznik) Zuchowski.
Through her years of employment, Madeline worked at Sterling Faucet, Mileground Market, Calico Cat and the Wonderbread Store. She never a met a stranger in her years of working, bowling and playing bingo. She and her late husband, “Dink,” could light up the dance floor with a square dance or jitterbug, but her favorite was a good polka.
Madeline was a devout Catholic and member of the Catholic Church of Preston County; having attended St. Joseph in Howesville and later, St. Zita, in Masontown, W.Va. She loved with all of her heart and enjoyed giving to others.
Madeline is survived by her loving children, Connie Jo Marshall, of Morgantown, and Brian Dale Trickett and wife Denise, of Arthurdale. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Marshall and wife Deidra, of Morgantown, Brian Trickett Jr. and wife Christin, of Indian Land, S.C., and Brandis Trickett, of Charlotte, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Ava and Andrew Marshall; and two brothers, Harry Zuchowski (Barbara) and Patrick Zuchowski (Elizabeth), all of Independence.
In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry “Dink” Trickett, on Sept. 3, 2015; grandson, Thomas R. Marshall III; four brothers, Thomas, Joseph, William and Robert Zuchowski; and three sisters, Pauline Conversano, Rose Tarr and Josephine Gribble.
Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, following CDC guidelines, from 2-7:30 p.m., the time of Rosary, on Sept. 11. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown, W.Va., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, with the Rev. S.A. Arokiadass, H.G.N. as celebrant. Madeline will be laid to rest in the Masontown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Zita c/o Catholic Churches of Preston County, 322 East Main St., Kingwood, WV 26537-1237.
