Elvidore “Dode” G. Everly, 88, of Bruceton Mills, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, at his home.
The son of the late Gilbert and Minnis Christopher Everly, he was born April 18, 1932, in Bruceton Mills.
Elvidore was a farmer and had also done building construction.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Jim Cottrill and Karen Pepper Charles; a son and his wife, Jim and Wendy Everly; eight grandchildren; Jeff Kisner and wife Brenda, Shane Kisner and wife Jennifer, Angela Craven and husband Jason, Karmon Thomas and husband Alan, Brandon Reckart and wife Laura, Kylee Charles, Chastity Everly and Katie Hovatter and her husband Jared; twelve great-grandchildren: Rylee Kisner, Shelby and Austin McFee, Sidney Kisner, Lance and Landon Craven, Kendall and Kaden Thomas, Gage, Wyatt and Ava Reckart and Amelia Hovatter; a sister-in-law, Patricia Everly; and farmhand, John Taylor. And, he will be greatly missed by his great-granddaughter, “Peanut.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alda Wolfe Everly; three sisters, Zeda Selby, Mary Clawges and Lova Bryte; and a brother, Thurman R. Everly.
Family and friends are invited for a memorial and interment service for Elvidore at the Fairview Cemetery in Bruceton Mills (Pisgah), from noon Aug. 30, until the 2 p.m. service, with Pastor Tim Wotring officiating.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is requested that all attending wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, is assisting the family with funeral and burial arrangements.
