Harold “Lefty” Vandervort, 93, passed away on Aug. 20, 2020, in Prescott, Ariz.
He was born to Harold and Ada (Rogers) Vandervort on March 20, 1927 in Morgantown.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years in September of 2011. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark; daughter, Cheryl Anne; and siblings, Roger, Mary Jo Jacquet and Carolyn Galucha.
Lefty graduated from Morgantown High School in 1945 where he played on Art Clyde’s basketball teams, who were Big 10 Champions in 1943 and placed third in a state tournament at the old Mountaineer Field House in 1945.
He is survived by six children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Chino Valley, Ariz. at 11 a.m. Thursday Aug. 27 with interment to follow at Chino Valley Cemetery.
