The U.S. Library of Congress will host a virtual public forum focused on public access to legislative information through Congress.gov from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday.

This event will provide an update on improvements to Congress.gov, which is the authoritative repository of U.S. congressional data, and the library’s role in providing access to legislative information. The forum will also allow Congress.gov users to give feedback to help guide the development of new features.

The forum will include an overview of recent functionality improvements to Congress.gov and upgrades in development.

There will be a conversation about data modernization efforts and the importance of data standards across the library and with Congress.gov data partners, including the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate and the Government Publishing Office (GPO), followed by a question-and-answer period.

The virtual public forum is free and open to the public. Register to participate and request ADA accommodations five business days in advance at 202-707-6362 or ADA@loc.gov.

The Library of Congress is the world’s largest library, offering access to the creative record of the United States and extensive materials from around the world. It is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress and the home of the U.S. Copyright Office.
