Albert Wright, David Goldberg elected to WV Hospital Assocation posts

MORGANTOWN — WVU Health System’s Albert Wright and Mon Health System’s David Goldberg have been named to posts on the West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) Board of Trustees.

Wright, president and CEO of WVU Medicine and WVU Health System, was elected board chair for 2020-21, having previously served as chairman-elect. He also was elected an at-large member; at-large members have no term limits.

Goldberg, Mon Health president and CEO, was also elected as an at-large member. This is his first time on the board.

Wright said in an email exchange, “I am honored to serve as chair of the West Virginia Hospital Association Board of Trustees and to support not only the hospitals and health systems within the state but also the patients they serve.

“As the academic medical center of the state’s land-grant university and the state’s largest private employer,” he said, “WVU Medicine has a responsibility to provide top-notch care for West Virginians all across the state and to positively impact the state’s economy by employing thousands of individuals across our system. My goal is take my experiences and the lessons I’ve learned as president and CEO of the WVU Health System and use them to advocate on behalf of our fellow healthcare providers and patients across West Virginia.”

Goldberg said in an email, “I am honored to be asked to be a member of our hospital association board. Hospitals and leaders across West Virginia are unified in ensuring best-in-class access, quality, and services to the communities we serve.”

The Health care education Foundation chair will be Vance Jackson, FACHE, president & CEO, Davis Health System, Elkins.
West Virginia Health Services chair is Robert Milvet, CEO, Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.Jeff Lilley, CEO, Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, will be state delegate to the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board through 2022.

The West Virginia Hospital Association is a not-for-profit statewide organization representing 61 hospitals and health systems across the continuum of care. It was founded in 1925 to serve as the collective voice of the state’s hospital community. Today, the mission is to support its members in achieving a strong, healthy West Virginia.

In addition to representing hospitals and health systems, WVHA includes associate member organizations that partner with West Virginia’s hospitals.
