Veronica Meleady

Veronica “Vee” Ann Meleady, 86 of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late John and Catherine Demaski Zurvalec, she was born April 7, 1934, in Masontown, Pa.

Veronica was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. In addition to being a busy homemaker, Veronica assisted her husband with the clerical side of his business. On most days Veronica could be found tending to her many flowers and working in the garden. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time and taking care of her family.

Veronica is survived by her loving husband, of 67 years, Paul Meleady Sr.; her children, Paul E. Meleady and his wife, Maryanne, Gary M. Meleady and his companion, Suzanne Metz and Rene Ann Idler; six grandchildren, Stephanie Meleady and her husband, Josh, Gary M. Meleady II and his wife, Anna, Courtney Heater and her husband, Casey, Justin P. Meleady, Nicholas C. Idler and his companion, Kate Bolyard and Ryan J. Idler; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony Zurvalec; a sister, Mary Gabelleto; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 with the Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE, as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery. Face coverings will be required along with proper social distancing when attending the visitation and services.
