Greg Lee Reel, 64, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Greg was born Sept. 18, 1955, in Morgantown, a son of the late Wilbur “Bus” Reel and Helen Berry Reel.
Greg was a 1973 MHS Graduate and a United States Navy Veteran. He was employed as a Lock Operator for the Army Corps of Engineers for over forty years.
In his younger years, Greg was an avid bowler, participating in many leagues. He was also an outstanding baseball player and received an invitation for the Pittsburgh Pirates farm team. He loved music, but it had to be old-time rock and roll. He also was a regular Food Network watcher and was always looking for new culinary ideas and, of course, over-feeding his favorite fur babies.
Greg is survived by his wife, Shelly Matthew Reel; one son, Alex Reel, of Morgantown, two stepdaughters, Kaylin and Allison Powers, both of Reedsville; one brother, Gary Reel and companion Lori Hepler, of Morgantown; longtime best friends, Mark and Al Ash and his canine companions Raleigh and Itsy.
Greg was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alyssa Reel, and one sister, Robin Reel.
In honoring Greg’s wishes, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services.
