Richard “Rick” Temple, 68, of Cassville, passed away Friday morning, August 7, 2020 at WVU Medicine — J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 29, 1952, a son of the late Clyde and Lois (Spangler) Temple.
Rick graduated from University High School Class of 1970. He worked as a millwright for more than 40 years. The last 20 years of that was at Morgantown Energy Associates.
Rick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherrie Darnell Temple, and two sons, David and Christopher Temple, of Clearwater, Fla.
Rick will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife, family and friends and will be so greatly missed.
Friends may join the family to honor Rick’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16 with the family present between the hours of 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, Rick’s funeral service will be held privately for his immediate family, and he will be laid to rest with his parents in the Tennant Cemetery near Blacksville.
At the family’s request all guests attending the visitation are asked to limit their time in the funeral home to 15 minutes or less. Face coverings will be required, and all recommended social distancing guidelines will be followed.
