Arlet N. Lantz, 91, of Morgantown, and formerly of Terra Alta, passed away at home on July 20, 2020. She was born Dec. 14, 1928, at home in Rodamer, W.Va. She was the oldest of seven children born to Waitman (Wade) and Amy Pearl Lewis.
Arlet attended Terra Alta High School through the 11th grade. She then moved to Keyser where she worked while finishing high school. She graduated from Keyser High School in 1947. While in Keyser, she met Robert Lantz, of Terra Alta, where they later married. Following the birth of their son Robert II, she became a stay at home mother of 14 children. Arlet and Bob were faithful attendants of Hillcrest Chapel in Terra Alta. Arlet and Bob both accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior in 1973.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant brother, Franklin Delanor; sisters, Vonda Minor and Gilda Haythorn; a daughter, Janet; a son, Steven; great-granddaughter, Megan; daughters-in-law, Linda, Annette and Donna; and a son-in-law, Ken Wyland.
Arlet is survived by her daughters, Karen (Stanley), Yvonne (Ken), Donna (Linda) and Tarita (Steve); sons, Robert II (Linda), Butch (Helen), Ronnie (Cherie), Randy (Annette), Rick (Sue), Terry (Teresa), David (Donna) and Mark (Lois); brothers, Lawrence and Jim Lewis; sister, Ruth Lewis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at the Terra Alta cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
